Seungtaik Jang painted Western style art and graduated from Hongik University in Korea. Then, he graudated from the Paris National School with a painting major. After having first solo exhibition in Paris in 1989, he became known as a painter to pursue non-material dimension through the soaked material to explore the spiritually of light materials, mainly through the paint pigment. One could feel that appreciation is put more time watching his old paintings. Since Seungtaik Jang spend a long time working with lights, materials and colors, one could first see beautiful color field, and could hear and touch over time. 

 

 

<What it is called one of the counterparts for the artistic creation divergent impulses. If you conform to some extent to the end will be able to say, "bone bridge" that is constantly repeated in the gap between the kind of repression and sublimation both artistic act.
Various materials (sign) of each other are purely based on the relationship between the physical product is intentional play favorites. 
The intention is that fully represents the most personal expression, which reaches what my job is that subjective. If you say to the extreme, it is just the act of gathering my creative qualities, feelings, and my work is remembered something.
The more creative you can be when you see through such a similar innate, spontaneous thoughts, inspiration and most direct expression of the unconscious or subconscious most personal form of expression. 작가 장승택은 홍익대학교 서양학과를 졸업하고 파리 국립 장식미술학교 회화과를 졸업했다. 그는 1989년 파리에서의 첫 개인전 이후 물감안료를 통해 다다른 빛의 세계와 물질에 스며든 정신성을 탐구하는 작가, 즉 물질을 통해 비물질적인 차원을 추구하는 작가로 알려져 있다. 그의 회화는 시간을 두고 오래 감상할수록 그 진가가 느껴진다. 오랜 시간 그가 빛과 색, 물질과 나누어 온 깊은 교감이 작품에 묻어 나기 때문에, 처음에는 그저 아름다운 색면이 보였다가(시각) 시간이 지날수록 들리고(청각) 만져진다(촉각). 

<어떤 이는 예술창조가 충동발산을 위한 하나의 대응물이라고 한다. 이 말에 어느 정도 순응한다면 예술행위는 일종의 억압과 승화의 두 간극 사이의 끊임없이 반복되는 “골 메우기”라고 말할 수 있을 것이다.
여러 재료(기호)들 상호간의 순전히 물질적인 관계를 바탕으로 한 의도적인 놀이인 작품이란 생산물 - 그 안에서 내가 겨냥하는 바는 물론 전통적인 의미에서의 재현은 아니다 -.
나의 작업은 완전히 주관적인 그 무엇을 가장 개인적인 표현방식으로 나타내려는데 그 의도가 있다. 극단적으로 말한다면, 나의 작업은 나의 창조적 자질, 감각 그리고 기억 따위를 모으는 행위에 지나지 않는 것이다.
가장 개인적인 표현방법은 선천성, 자연발생적인 생각, 영감 등 무의식이나 무의식의 가장 직접적인 표현과 유사한 형태를 통하여 나타날 때 더욱 독창적일 수 있는 것이다. 가장 개인적인 내적 욕망과 감성의 표현이 가장 보편적일 수 있다고 본다. > - 작가노트 중에서
