Fernando
Botero was born in Medellin, Colombia in 1932. He is famous for painting
inflated figures and still life works, which are plump the utmost. Botero is
one of the most representative painters of the Latin American by revealing the
sense of humor and emotions on this works.
Botero
has been working in both of France and the United States since 1973, and
continues to work activity.
Botero
won the award 'Guggenheim National Prize for Columbia' in 1960. Also, he received
the Order of Boyacá in the Grade of Grand Cross in
1977.
페로난도 보테로는 1932년에 콜롬비아의 메데인에서 태어났다. 통통하게 한껏 부풀려져 독특한 양감을 지니도록 표현한 인물과 정물 작품으로 유명하다. 이를 통해 남미의 유머감각과 정서를 가장 잘 드러냈다는 평을 받으며 남미의 대표적인 화가로 손꼽힌다.
1973년부터 프랑스와 미국을 오가며 작업활동을 이어가고 있다.
1960년에 Guggenheim
National Prize for Colombia 상을 수상했으며 1977년 베네수엘라
앙드레스 베로 훈장, 콜롬비아 보야카 대십자 훈장을 받았다.
